New Serial: See You Again in the Emerald City

A travel journal by JIYUCHO and FUTO owner and poet Shohei Koyama, following his journey through Seattle, Washington, is now being serialized.

Seattle is the city where Koyama spent a year as a student. The serial visits Seattle and nearby towns such as Bellevue and Kirkland, as well as Fremont, the town that inspired the name of the company behind JIYUCHO.

Even after studying abroad, Koyama has remembered Seattle whenever he felt lost in life or was about to begin a new challenge. He has crossed the ocean and returned there many times. For him, Seattle is another sky and a kind of root.

In this series, Koyama himself actually visits Seattle and spends about a week traveling as if taking long walks, writing down landscapes and feelings along the way.

We hope it can be enjoyed by people who want a touch of overseas air and free, honest feeling in daily life, by those vaguely thinking about traveling abroad, and by those wondering what Seattle is like.

Please enjoy not only the writing, but also the photos Koyama took as he walked and visited each place. He seems to like calling them snapshots.

At the end of each article, URLs and maps for the places visited are included. If a place catches your attention, saving it in your map app and looking forward to visiting someday might be a nice way to enjoy the serial.

May it become a good trip for every reader. Have a good trip.
