Calendar Letter: A Monthly Letter Subscription to Your Future Self

This article introduces Calendar Letter, a monthly letter subscription that we especially recommend starting in January, at the beginning of a new year.

What Is Calendar Letter?

Calendar Letter is a subscription service that sends an original JIYUCHO letter set to your home every month.

Each set includes calendar-style cards where you can write down daily events, question cards that help you look back on the month, and an A5 envelope where you can keep photos, letters, and other memories.

Subscribers can also join Tsukuyomi Club, a monthly live radio program available only to Calendar Letter users, where listeners can participate through comments.

After writing your monthly Calendar Letters, you can send them back to JIYUCHO. One year later, the twelve months will be bound into an album and returned to you.

Why January Is a Good Time to Begin

At the start of a new year, many of us think about what kind of year we want to have or what we would like to try. But before we know it, February and March arrive, and everyday life has already carried us forward.

Calendar Letter offers a small pause inside that flow. It invites you to look at yourself as you are now.

You might write down something that made you happy today, something fun that happened, or a tiny moment that moved your feelings. Taking time to notice the present, including things that would usually be forgotten, can make ordinary days feel richer.

I have personally continued using Calendar Letter since it was born four years ago. I cannot always write every day, and sometimes I write several months together, but when I look back over a year’s worth of letters at the end of the year, I feel quietly proud that I lived through so many things. I remember what made me laugh, and I want to keep continuing.

How to Apply

You can apply from the Calendar Letter product page. If you apply by January 19, you can start from the January set, making it a beautiful way to record the year from the beginning.
