The theory of the division of roles in all things

If it's all about dividing up the roles...

Both those who teach and those who are taught. Meaning only comes from the roles of teaching and learning. If there are only teachers and no students, then it's not really teaching, is it?

It's the same with running a shop. There's a division of roles between the person who opens the shop and the person who comes to the shop. There's a division of roles between the person who wants to do the work and the person who wants to do the work. If only one side is there, the shop will disappear, or it might not even be born in the first place.

Even in everyday life, there's a division of roles. Those who serve customers and those who are served. Those who prepare what's ordered and those who have it prepared. Those who receive money and those who pay. Nothing can function with only one side. That's obvious, isn't it?

Each individual plays a part in their own unique role, and that's what makes up society and our lives.

There can only be someone who gives something because there is someone who receives it. There can only be someone who teaches something because there is someone who learns it. Neither is inherently superior or inferior; it's simply a division of roles.

Furthermore, there are people who are trying to do better and make their roles more meaningful. They think, "Maybe this would be better. Maybe this would make the other person happier." Better today than yesterday, better tomorrow than today. I think people who keep improving their roles by constantly thinking, "What if I did this or that?" are truly amazing.

I want to learn from, teach, give and receive work from, and anticipate how delicious the coffee made by such people will be.

People who can feel regret about their role in the present moment and look towards tomorrow—I believe that it is because of such people that society will become a little better tomorrow. The fact that I can think of such people fills me with immense happiness and emotion.

Thank you for reading today. The idea that we can receive because there are people who give, or arguing about which is better, doesn't make me feel like anything will be better tomorrow. The truth is that each and every person has a role to play, and only when they fulfill it can society, companies, towns, shops, and life itself function and move towards a better future. Just carrying that burden and living seriously is inherently a very difficult thing.
