FUTO Appears on NHK ETV’s Saiko no Ittsu

Hello, this is Mori from FUTO.

FUTO was used as the fictional stationery shop Shiroyagi in the NHK ETV program Saiko no Ittsu: Osekkai na Bunguten Shiroyagi, broadcast on September 16.

The program is built around the idea of conveying feelings in a form that reaches someone. The staff of the fictional stationery shop visit people who want to write a letter to someone important, and together with writing professionals, help create and deliver the best possible letter.

In the shop were manager Tomita Miu, staff members Chan Kawai and LEO from BE:FIRST, and regular customer Mizuno Yoshiki.

This time, Chan Kawai went to help a high school student write a letter to her grandmother. Through his interview and support from Akutagawa Prize-winning author Idogawa Iko, the letter was completed.

Throughout the program, we could feel the warmth of people thinking together about how to express feelings that can be conveyed precisely because they are written in a letter.

The warm scenes of the granddaughter thinking of her grandmother, and the moment when the grandmother actually read the letter, moved us to tears.

After that VTR, behind the shop staff gathered at Shiroyagi, the shelves where we keep customers' letters written at FUTO appeared on screen. Seeing those shelves after watching the story reminded us again that each letter kept here contains an important story.

We are very happy that FUTO was chosen as the stationery shop Shiroyagi. Thank you to everyone involved in the production.

Missed broadcast and next episode

The episode was available as a missed broadcast until September 23. The next broadcast, the third installment, is scheduled for October 12 at 21:00 and will feature letters sent for Good Couple Day. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of letters appear next.
